Ready to design your own original quilts, but not sure how to move the concept to fabric reality? Lynne will demonstrate the methods she learned from Patricia Belyea to create your own designs starting with very small sketches, then enlarge it to full size, and then create freezer paper patterns that guarantee accurate piecing and assembly for designs that are not based on regular blocks. In the class, you’ll either create your own small quilt design or use one of Lynne’s, then prepare the patterns and sew and element or two. If you are speedy and your design has few pieces (and Lynne doesn’t talk too much), you might finish a small piece. This method is excellent for art quilts or modern quilt designs that are not primarily built from traditional block arrangements.
