One Block Wonder Schoolhouse – 07/19/25 & 08/02/25
July 19, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Former guild president Jennifer Price will show you how to create a “One-Block Wonder”! This is a two-part class, but your $15 registration fee will get you into both sections! On July 19th, you will be learning how to cut and piece your blocks. On Aug. 2nd, come back with your completed blocks for a class devoted to layout.
This technique requires rather specific fabric selections, so start keeping an eye out for suitable ones now! To create a quilt similar to Jennifer’s, you will need seven identical panels. If you prefer to make a one-block wonder quilt that does not center around a panel, you could instead use a piece of fabric cut long enough to include at least six repeats. (Ask a fabric store worker for help if you’re not sure how to tell what constitutes a repeat!) Large-scale prints with some “curve” to the motifs work best for this! Please reach out to Jennifer if you need help puzzling out the best fabric or panels to purchase.
